Secure Password Generator FAQs
Is it safe to use an online password generator?
Yes, if the tool is client-side like ours. This generator uses JavaScript running entirely in your browser. The password never travels over the internet, so it cannot be intercepted.
What makes a password "strong"?
Entropy: the mathematical measure of randomness. A strong password combines length (12+ characters, ideally 16+) with variety (symbols, numbers, both cases) to create high entropy, making it infeasible to brute-force.
How often should I change my passwords?
Modern security advice suggests only changing passwords if they have been compromised in a data breach. Instead of frequent changes, focus on using unique, long, complex passwords for every single account.
What does "Exclude Similar" do?
It removes ambiguous characters (i, l, 1, L, o, 0, O) from the pool, so you never confuse the letter O with the number 0 when typing a password manually, for example a Wi-Fi key.
Where are my generated passwords stored?
Nowhere outside your browser. A temporary history of your last 5 passwords is kept in the page only (local session), so you can recover one if you forget to save it. Click Clear to wipe it, and it disappears entirely when you leave the page.
